My son bought this laptop for me about 1 1/2 years ago. worked great out the box then down the road it started acting up with the WiFi. On loading up at turning it on the WiFi icon at the bottom showed it was disconnected but, when I clicked on it after inputting my psw to open the window it would connect to the WiFi. This happened once or twice a few months later and I had to restart the laptop in order for it to even show WiFi settings.

I thought at first it was my cable people but no.since then it finally stopped acting up until last Nov when it started getting worse. I would have to restart even if it went into sleep mode. Then today again but I restarted it 3 times and the last time after it loaded the main window where I put in my password it showed connected until I login then it disconnected again.

I'm at my wits end so to speak. I'm no geek by no means but I do have a good bit of knowledge about computers/electronics. So some suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.

And again its working...For how long.... :help:

Thank you in advance, BT

Sorry but to me an F15 is a fighter jet so please provide the brand, model name or number and S/N of this computer so we can do some research.

Download then run Speccy ( free ) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

  1. In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
  2. In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
  3. Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

  1.

Will do. But I did a little test myself and found that after 21/2 years since this started it may have something to do with either my router(cable companies) and/or my wlan card which is MediaTex WiFi6 MT7921 Wireless Lan Card.

I have a 2 story w/basement where one router is the basement and the other router is up stairs in a spare room, which is where I'm at now because the wifi seems to work up here. Just took this laptop downstairs only to not get "Any" wifi..  I found a piece on RedEx where somebody else was having same issues with the same laptop, Tuf F15. He thought he had fixed it with all the tricks and bells he went through only to have it come back fully loaded 3 years later. He said he upgraded to the WiFi 7 and its been working every since. https://www.reddit.c...is_a/?rdt=45586

I'm going to download and run the speecy as you requested. Just thought this bit of info may help.

Thanks for responding quickly. Regards BT

edit: The Speecy link wont let me download.

It seems to be a common problem with that particular card, here is a solved thread off the ASUS forums, see if it helps.

Speccy link works fine for me, try this one

For whatever reason none of the links you've posted don't work on either one of my laptops. But I did go to Microsoft Store and it was in there.

I spoke with my RTC cable tech who put in two routers about the same time as I started with this computer . Just happen to locate his number and called.

He corrected some issues on his and my end as far as the bandwidth goes. I have 2  bandwidths. 2.4 & 5Ghz.

It seems that the Asus Tuf Gaming F15 laptop was getting so confused with the 2 different bands it was "Flipping Out" so to speak.

From his end ( I have an app on my cell that wasn't showing the devices that were connected) he set it to do an automatic connection that would be good for each devise that was on the network. When he did that I was able to not only have a good WiFi connection with this laptop but, now I am able to monitor all of my devise in one place.

So, yes my WiFi is back up(fingers crossed for good) and with that being said, would you like for me to still run the Speecy just as a precaution to be sure there isn't anything else going on? I do appreciate you taking the time out of your schedule to try and help me .

Thank You

Regards BT

Apologies for the delay getting back to BT, I've had a hectic couple of days with one thing and another and have another one today  :(

Pleased to hear that you have resolved the issue and thank you for sharing how

No need for the Speccy url at this time and fingers crossed not at all if things remain stable.

Tip, it is not the be all of end all but it is good practice to create regular restore points when a computer is behaving itself and one should 100% always be created before installing any update, before installing any new software and before changing any local settings.

You are welcome  :)

Good day to you GloMo. I am sorry that you have had a couple of hectic days. I'll pray for it to get better for you.

I guess I spoke too soon . The issue is back but, only if I restart my laptop "after" turning it on .

It shows the WiFi connection on start but as soon as I try to log onto the web I loose the connection.

When I had the laptop up stairs, being very close to the router It worked great. Brought it back down and automatically lost signal.

Went in the spare room next to where I was when I lost the signal and gained the signal back. I went back into the room(my dinning room) where I seem to keep loosing the signal and lost it again.

If you remember I told you I have 2 routers from my internet provider. One up stairs and one in the basement next to the modem. The basement router is underneath the spare room where I get continuous signal.

I tried moving the up stairs router a little closer to where I mostly sit downstairs(dinning room) to see if the signal was stronger but, to no avail it only worked until I logged in this morning.

I have signal now only because I reset it. I may have to put another router where I sit on the first floor, downgrade to the original MediaTek driver before the last updates(which I read will slow the speed ) Or open the laptop and remove, clean and reinstall the wifi card in order to have a continuous signal. I'm a little leary of the latter even though Youtube videos make it look simple.

You are more knowledgeable in this area and I would like some suggestions Sir. I'm Not a Geek here but have some knowledge of how things should work but don't always.

Thank You

Regards BT

I know you mentioned I didn't need to install Speecy but I did anyway before you posted. Although it did download this is what came up.

Well Snap... That didn"t work. Tried to post a snap shot but I guess G2G changed their image settings.

It is a url that you need to copy/paste, see attachment below;

I suggest a plug in range extender or two your ISP may provide them but if they do ask if there us any cost first
