I have a Spectrum modem with only one ethernet output.  I don't like wifi.  I previously used Kinetic, and bought my own Netgear Router.  It has 4 ethernet outputs.  I have temporarily started using wifi, with Spectrums router.  But it's $10 per month.  I have to connect my computer and my tv, so I have to have 2 ethernet capability.  What kind of issues am I going to have if I connect the Spectrum modem to the Netgear router?  Would there be a lot complicate setup?  Again, I don't want to use the wifi.  I just need to run 2 ethernets.  The Netgear connected to an optical network terminal when I used Kinetic.  But I'm sure it's probably a modem-router combo.  Is there any chance I can just connect the Netgear router to Spectrum's modem and find that it works without a lot of issues?

You shouldn't have a problem. You connect the modem output to the router. Then connect the TV and computer and it will be fine.

I just hooked it up.  Only had to reinstall the router (routerlogin.net).  All is working fine.  Thanks for reassuring me that I wasn't going to screw things up.  Spectrum's $10 per month router will go back to them tomorrow.
