I purchased a new desktop pc from dell years ago. It had windows 8 installed. I upgraded to windows 10. It also came with a windows 8 re installation CD which I still have.
So do I need a product key for the CD and how do I reinstall windows 8?

Being that Windows 8 and 8.1 are no longer supported and likewise Windows 10 is end of life on October 14th of this year if your hardware is officially supported you should be upgrading to Windows 11 and not going backwards.
Can I ask why you are wanting to reinstall Windows 8.
