[Night_Shift]

I'm trying to view my avi's on windows media player but when i load it up it says that it's sending codec requests, but right after that it says error downloading codec. Why? I've installed the latest codecs and all, plus some other ones but right now. it's just taking up space. Why won't it get the codecs? Oh yeah I can only see em' but not hear em'

Also when the error comes up, you see an exclimation mark(beside file name) if somthing is wrong right? then you click it and it should help you right? well for me what happens is i get a wired message that says something like this:

audio tag 85 needed
click here to download the latest codecs

but what happens is that it doesn't even recognize it.Like there is no tag85 or something.......
What's wrong?

then extract all the files and run to install it. as soon as you have done that go to start>run> then type

regsvr32.exe l3codecx.acm

click ok. Once you recieve the success message... go to start>run> then type
regsvr32.exe l3codecx.ax

click ok.
You should then get another success message.

Your firewall may be blocking, or Microsoft may simply not have that codec.

It's alright, I did a scan with the registry fix.......IT WORKS, now i can hear em, see em, and ENJOY....for all the prople helping me, THANK YOU AND THIS SITE!! this forum is now disbanded
