Shut down the system and open the case.. If the monitor is connected to a card that is installed in one of the slots on the mobo it is a separate card..

I got high color 16 bit to show up on the settings part of display. but when I restart I get a screen that says

there is a problem with your display settings. The adapter type is incorrect, or the current settings do not work with your hardware.

I followed this. But it was for Blade 3D I have CyberBlade i7.
Ifollowed the same process using the other drivers but stil get the same screen after resart

2.0 Installation Notes for Windows 9x

Procedure:

1. Run the Windows 9x display Setup program located in the Control Panel,
Select Display Icon. Double click it to bring up Display Property page.
Select "Settings" Tab on the Display Property page.

2. Click "Display Type or advanced..." button from the Display Settings options.

3. Click "adaptor" tab from Trident Properties

4. Cick next and select "Display a list of all the driver......"

5. Select "Change..." button from the Display Type options.

5. Select "Have Disk..." button from the Select Device options.

6. Windows 9x will prompt you for the correct path where the driver is saved.

7. Restart Windows 9x. Windows 9x will start up with default mode
using the Trident drivers.

8. Choose desired resolution, color depth and refresh rate from the
Display Setting applet, and restart Windows 9x.

Also after I change the color settings it tells me I have to resart to apply the changes and asks me if I want to restart now. Which is normal, but then when it tries to restart it just turns off and I have to press the restart button on the tower. Then it asks me if I want to start in safe mode. I always just choose normal mode.

Get rid of those drivers as they aren't even close for what you need!!

If the drivers for that card aren't being installed, then I would suggest getting a stand-alone card..

It would benefit you two ways:

1: Definite drivers for the card and, if you ever have to reformat again, you don't go through all this process and;

2: It frees up whatever system memory the integrated card is stealing for it's use!!

Thanks but I would rather have been able to figure out why the srivers for your card wouldn't work but, I do think you will be way farther ahead with an add-on vid card!!
