hey,
i have a ipod mini and i am using it of windows 98
its has a 4gig of hard drive

i have 301 songs on it and it has taken up 1.8 gigabite!
thats a lot of space taken

what is wrong

should i be converting all files to aac instead of leaving them as mp3!

please help me!

It depends on your encoding. The higher quality the MP3, the more space it takes up. If you're that space concerned (with 4GB I can't imagine why you would be) I'd suggest not downloading anything over 128.

As for 1.8GB for 301 songs, that averages out to just under 6MB a song... which isn't all that unreasonable depending on quality. For 128 songs, I average about 3 - 4MB per song.

All that was to say that 1.8GB for 301 songs doesn't seem outrageous to me.

hey thanks

so i should keep my songs as mp3 or change them to aac

also does 61 songs that take up 1.08 gig sound about right
