Every so often our router stops working but the cable modem box when plugged into a computer works we are wondering what is causing this and what to do..we have 4 wired computers and 2 wireless on the network...at most 3 running bittorrent...any help will be grateful

what kind of router? how is your network set up? workgroup? plain old internet sharing?

D-link.....just sharing internet..and I am not postive on if it is workgroup or how the network is set up

How old is the router? Have you tried updating firm ware? Alos log into its interface and check for keep alive settings instead of connect on demmand.
