Can anyone help me? Im new to system upgrading and im wondering if i could add a sata drive to my sysyem. I am currently running two 2oog WD ide master + slave, can i remove slave and just add one sata. I have the connections on my motherboard for sata would like to add a raptor for gaming but i do not know the precedure. Do i need driver for sata and will it just show up as another driver on my computer

Generally speaking, you can add a Serial ATA drive (yes, you'll need drivers too) and leave your two IDE HDD's intact. However, some motherboards will require no HDD on Primary IDE master if you want to use Serial ATA. So, the answer becomes kinda maybe, but probably. We'll need to know what MoBo you have to give you an accurate response.

Also can anyone tell me why my Plextor PX-716A DVD-RW fails to write a disc without freezing or blocking the Plextor support team tell me i need to move it to my secondary IDE an run it alone, i have used a sony on master slave and it worked fine so why should i not be able to with Plextor? I think they dont want to give me a RMA (Belgium) support team. why me
