Hello folks out there! ;)

Can anyone tell me what`s the RSS thing that i see in sites like Neowin.net. How it works and what for?
Is it free of charges (in money) or doesn`t imply any money involved?

And do you know anything about the Neowin Gadget, which i think that provides access to a RSS feed, but i am not sure about that?
