I have sucessfully used my CD write drive to back up the "My Documents" folder several times using the "Send To" function. This last time I had problems with some of the same files coming up as not copyable and the process stopped. After several attempts to repeat the process, as soon as I clicked on "Send To", an error message "access is denied" came up. This has now been consistently the same. I can copy the folder to My Briefcase but cannot copy from My Briefcase to the CD drive--access is denied. It seems that I just cannot copy to an external disc. I have found no information at Microsoft or on the internet so far. Is anyone familiar with a solution to this problem--I cannot back-up my files to an external drive.
