Yes I am getting these same errors,
they began with Alias StudioTools ( studio tools) 12 when I upgraged to an NVIDIA Quadro FX1100 video card.

I have tried bios upgrades, NVIDIA driver updates, DirectX 9, and XP service pack 2.
I even rebuilt XP from scratch with only StudioTools installed to eliminate any possible conflicts.

Usually after a bootup I can actually get into the program before it crashes with a single Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error.

Later, if I try again, it crashes before the program even manages to open, and gives two C++ errors, one for Alias.exe and another for splash.exe.

I now get the same errors and crashes with Adobe and Solidworks, respectively.

Only going back to an older Quadro 900 card seems to solve the problem. (but I need the FX to work)

I have heard there are new requirements for the runtime environment embedded in Internet Explorer 6 and higher, I will try that option next. Despite my loathing for IE.

Can somone out there HELP!!!???????
