Hello!
The first season of Lost gets better with each episode. I never saw the first few, I started a few weeks late. I ended up loving the show. My opinion would be to watch a few more episodes and see if you catch on to it. There are a few things in the jungle, I forget what all of them are.
Its a godo show that definately gets better throughout the season.
