I have recently started seeing large image ads from google advertising stuff on this fourm. Twice I have seen large ads for NoAdware.

Are they doing this with permisssion? Or is it malware on my system? ;)

Best regards,

Love the site, and Geek U :tazz:

Hello!

I know we do have some google adds on the site. But I am not sure about "No AdWare."

Are these ads that you are getting pop up ads? If they are popups, I would reccomend posting a HiJackThis log in our Malware Forum.

The ads are not popups, ie a new browser window does not appear. But I have had a very small number of ocasionally blocked sites/popups at other sites/places.

Also I have occassionally noticed that the ads at the top of the forum ocassionally have very large fonts. Instead of a font size of about 8 it looks like aboout 40 to 60.

The NoAdware images are two large images that appear ocassionally at the bottom of the forums. Underneath at the RH bottom of the image is the ads by Gooooogle tag line, and at the lower left of the ads is a tagline to the Noadware site.

I'll run some scans including HJT. I recently passed my fourth practirce log so I'm probably really dangerous when it comes to fixing my own spyware :tazz:

Regards,

EMCguy

PS Until recently, all the Google ads have been small discrete text ads, which I very much prefer.

Edit. At the bottom of this forum/post, there are now two image adds for the google tool bar popups. Me no likey ;)

second edit differnent ads at the bottom. What happens if I mention sports betting?
Airline fares or poker ?

Id would guess that you have a little infection on your system. Post a log in the malware forum and someone will be able to fix it for you :tazz:

I made them go away by adjusting my IE setting to maximum blocking on popups.

PS Did a quick look at my HJT scan. Nothing real exciting there except the windows infection that Usetobe was always concerned about. :)

PS Warrior Scott - I like your avatar. :tazz:

Edit: I thought they were only appearing with IE, but I'm seeing them with Firefox.
Gotta adjust those settings as well. ;)
