ok, well, you NEED to learn CPP to do any serious game dev.
People say all you need to learn is VB or another interpreted language, but C++ is the language simply because of its power.

i did a little gml and frig vb ill never use that but i have been reading tutorials for c++ since about january

Ok, You need to understand these concepts.
Inheritance
Polymorphism
actually everything about object oriented really
Pointers
Arguement Passing
memory allocation
Before you do anything, you need to design what your going to make, and youll need the tools. Personally, i think you should use a premade engine and just program your game around it, Try Genesis or Jet or the new irrlicht opengl engine.

ive had already found a great engine called imtane its an mmorpg engine but hey an engine an engine but there was a bad link have u found a good one
