Drive in use by Roxio Direct CD Kernel

I am attempting to burn a CD, but when I choose Record I get the error: Drive in use by another application Roxio Direct CD Kernel. Easy CD Creato9r can not use the drive until the applicatoin is completed (or something very close to this).

I seem to remember that the last time I started to burn a CD, I changed my mind and perhaps I did not exit correctly. How do I get past this error?

reboot the pc and see if it goes away. if not, then check with roxio to see if there are any updates that can be applied to resolve the issue.

I had to uninstall Roxio and then reinstall it. I am finally able to use the drive again. Please go ahead and close this call.

I'm getting this with my CD/DVD drive and I don't even have Roxio installed! Help?
