CWShredder removes only 1 item, the same item, everytime. I immediately run Spybot and it shows me 7 or 8 Cool Searches that CWShred never touches, including the one the Shred supposedly just eliminated. Spybot can't fix anything because of (Datei: C\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc\hosts". Adaware eliminates about 10 items, but in an hour they're all back. Added AVG last week, hasn't changed a thing . . .and bought STOPzilla for pop-up windows, which also used to work very well until lately. Computer getting sluggish, freezing up, . . using esxternal in-line Lynxsys firewall. Everything used to work without a glitch. I used to run Spybot once a week and got NOTHING !. What to do ? On Verizon DSL . . my dial up used to be faster.

Hi Buzzytheshark, let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.
