From my guess
this is a 95 install with a 98se upgrade and a bad removal of Nortons
thats 1 problem.
We may have to edit the registry key but I want to keep that as the last pitch effort

G'day Wannabe1
I tried that but it did not work - if you get the email address via a pm
you can send the file.
I tried to doa as an attachment. Yet it could be me I can't even get pic's to attach - yes I know there is a button but don't work for me

ok 2 options
you go to your friends place log on to www.bootdisk.com
download a 98se oem boot disk to the computer. When it is downloaded
put your floppy in to the drive & click on the file this will transfer the files
to the floppy.
2) you use the pm option to send wannabe1 your email address and he will
email you the file, since you cant put it on a floppy you will have to burn it to a cd.

how do i burn to cd

I'll help you with that in a few minutes.

You may have to disable your AV and/or firewall for a minute to save the files I sent.....a couple of them are exe files and may be seen as virus' by the AV.

As an aside...I use Firefox exclusively...the tabbed browsing feature allows me to keep track of multiple pages from one browser window....much better than IE!

i'm trying firefox first cuz that's how i got the trojan just in a matter of minutes-i think thats how i got it-then tried to get rid of it and the rest is history-
somebody sent me a PM with a message " wininet.dll is infected with the w32.desktohijack etc etc etc

so i have heard-so thats what the tabbed browsing does-multiple windows perfect
oh oh do you keep internet explorer and just not use it or get rid of it - i was unable to

IE is still on the machine...I just set Firefox as the default browser. I also use Thunderbird which is Mozilla's answer to Outlook...the two together (Firefox and Thunderbird) make IE and Outlook look pretty lame.

Any luck getting those files?
