I am trying to install mcafee firewall by downloading it, but when I clicked on download I got a blank page. On contacting mcafee I was advised to register the following files, urlmon.dll and actxprxy.dll and then restart. This was sucessful. I was then to register a list of additional files but of this list the three following had the same message.
scrrun.dll
mshtml.dll
shdocvw.dll
LoadLibrary("filename.dll") failed. One of the files needed to run this application cannot be found.
Now what guys, I tried but mcafee still wont install, what do I do?

This will rebuild rather than restore the registry and also replace missing or corrupt system files

Boot the PC and keep tapping F8 right after the beep until you get options, select command prompt only, type scanreg.exe /fix then press enter, it will run through a few screens then say registry repaired. Press enter then press ctrl + alt + delete keys together to reboot.

When it has loaded, click start, all programmes, accessories, system tools, system information, tools then run system file checker and replace any files it asks for from the 98SE CD then reboot.

Well,i did that, it all worked except for scrrun.dll. The site you sent me to then recomended to type in CMD and I was then presented with "cannot find file make sure the path and filename are correct". Help, I cant go on without a firewall and I tried to download Nortons trial offer while I'm waiting and that didnt work either! Talk about out of luck!!!

scrun.dll is a Microsoft file so try click start, all programmes, accessories, system tools, system information, tools to run system file check, choose the extract a file option, put the Windows CD in and it should find it and install it.
