I have continued working on this issue a bit before a reply was made, so here is the progress so far. I believe I have been able to successfully remove the Nail infection. I also followed the directions to a tee but there are some discrepancies.

I also appear to have an installed piece of malware called "Command". When you try to uninstall the application, it explains that its called Command Desktop Advertising Application and that it wants you to download and install its own removal utility.
