Hi everyone!

Well I want to sell my computer, but before I do I want to peak it up, to its ultimate performance. I wanted to know should I just reboot it with the CD's Dell gave me with the computer? And my other question was, will that get rid of any viruses or trohjans, that are potentially in the computer? Please help as soon as possible, because I really want to sell this ASAP!!! Thanks for all your help!!! And one more last question I wanted to know how much I could possibly sell my computer for, here is the basic information on it:
Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

Dell Dimension DIM2400
Pentium 4 CPU 2.53 GHz
2.52 GHz, 512 MB of Ram
17 Inch Flat Screen Monitor

No I do not plan on reformating it, I'm going to sell it the same way I got it.

Howdy:

Just use the Dell Recovery cd.. It will wipe the drive and then re-install everything back to the condition it was in on day 1..

BTW.. the Dell cd's MUST go with the system as well when you sell it!!

In most cases it will remove the viruses and trojans etc however some of them come back even after you have done that because they add something to your system recovery place ! Now those ones are very hard to get rid of !

No idea.. never did a Dell before but the last time I re-did one of my systems, it was about an hour from total wipeout to back with everything loaded that I wanted on it..

Considering I get a new one with those features for a small bit more.. yep!!

Nothing wrong with starting high and dichering down.. Some people like to bargain and dicker

You could probably do it yourself.. If you go to the Dell website and search your system, they have some excellent tutorials on how to use their recovery/restore cd's.. Just print that info out and follow it!!

Oh yeah what are the things I should put, when I post my computer up for sale? I also have power point, excel, & publisher on it. Of course I didnt purchase them, but should I still leave them on the computer?
