After running most of the anti spyware programs to remove LOP and a few others IE/Outlook will not work. The installation is OK and I checked all the settings with my ISP who confirmed that the configuration was correct.
They suggested I ran an XP upgrade installation which I have done to no avail.
Both IE and Oulook are shown as active on the start up menu. However when I delved a bit deeper and went into the Install/Deinstall windows components both are showing ZERO file content. If I deinstall and reinstall they disappear and reappear on the start menu but with nothing in the files it will not work. Any ideas how to reinstall without having to do a complete windows installation as I will lose of material not yet backed up (Now I know I'm and idiot for not doing it on a daily basis) as I seem to be having a problem copying to CD too....

Any suggestions

I have tried all of this and a XP upgrade installation. I have also reloaded all the drivers required from the OEM discs supplied.

The current situation is:
PC is extremely slow
I cannot delete user accounts
I cannot delete programs I get a WinCtlAdAlt.exe application error
When opening the Install/Remove Windows components most of the applications listed show a 00 file size. If I deinstall explorer and outlook they disappear from the Start menu and when I reinstall they appear again, however the applications do not run.

Another issue which may be of relevance was that when doing the upgrade the OEM disc stopped when I reached the gm.dls file and gave a message that the file could not be copied.
The same happened with
grkcsp.dll
graftabl.com
grpconv.exe
hardware.chm
ldwwiz.cpl
help.exe
hhctrlui.dll
hidphone.tsp
himem.sys
hisecws

I ran it again, and when the disc stopped at gm.dls I opened the disc tray and closed it again which then seemed to satisfy the copy process as all the files appeared to copy across.

Any other ideas or do I back up what I can and do a full installation of Windows XP....a daunting thought at best.
