IE Favorites Problem

One of my PCs has five user accounts. In one of the accounts the user cannot add or delete any favorites. Existing favorites can be used. I have tried exporting and then importing the favorites but this has not worked. The machine is running XP Home, SP2. All of the other user accounts do not have this problem. I am guessing that the file has been corrupted but I do not know how to repair it. Any help much appreciated.
