My neighbour has ME and is having some problems with it. I tried to help her but I'm not farmiliar with ME to much. The basic problem is it's very slow. She has tried to defrag it but it won't go past 3 percent. The computer is about 4-5 years old so it's not exactly the best on the market. The hardrive has about 40 gigs on it and only 6 are used so its not packed....any suggestions?

Please go to the malware forum in my signature and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

If it is 4-5 years old it is probably clogged up with files that are not needed or used any more.

Download Easy Cleaner from here: http://www.majorgeek...ownload414.html

When you run it use UNNECESSARY and REGISTRY options only. ( I check the top 3 boxes in unnecessary).

DO NOT DELETE ANY DUPLICATE FILES - some of them are needed.

You may well find hundreds of unnecessary files - delete them.

I have never had a problem with Easy Cleaner.

Also: goto Control Panel > Internet Options and select Delete Files. (this deletes temp internet files)

Click on Start > Run and type in %temp% - delete all.
