Yes I have to move SpySherrif

I scanned my computer with AVG, I scanned my computer with Ad-Adware, I scanned my computer with spybots as well.

Nothing could remove the symptoms

Symptoms are (That I know of) I cannot change my backround picture from a blue screen, inside it a black box with large red letters saying "SpyWare Infection" and little writing explaining.

It came without me downloading it or installing it.

It scanned my comp and said that I have alot of spyware things "47"

Can someboy please help me remove it...

Hi Shadow. I was asked by Keith to provide some input. The scanner used is a very good one and can help people, such as yourself, but it is not a "one shoe fits all" approach to fixing your machine. The easiest way I can explain the shortcomings of using this and only this type of fix is to look at the shortcomings of pages translated by google. Many times, I will search a topic and find a button to "have it translated." I attended a conference this week and spoke with our speech translators who are responsible for translating tons of documents from our patients. They said the translation programs are very literal in their approach and don't take into the context of the entire language.

Do you see where I am coming from? It may have fixed your computer, but it may have not taken into consideration the complexity of the problem or the root of the problem because it's not looking at the entire picture.

I think it would be a good idea to post a hijack log in this topic, as Keith suggested (he is awesome, BTW). And I can move it to the malware forum where it will receive the attention it needs.

There are quite a few programs available that offer protection features to help keep a computer from getting infected. While this is normally a helpful feature, it can keep a victim from making the changes necessary to clean their comptuer. Please read the following and uninstall or disable those that apply to your machine.

These programs need to be uninstalled

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

Install and run. Click on the button labeled CleanUp!.

When it finishes it will prompt you to restart Windows - there will be one or two files it cannot delete when Windows is running - however, they will be deleted next time Windows starts up.
