Does BackWeb error affect homepage?

I recently started to get the BackWeb error message, but I managed to delete the adware using SpyBot. However, at the same time I started to get the error message, my homepage was changed and now I cannot change it back. Is this connected to the BackWeb error? Any suggestions as to how to correct this?

Apart from SpyBot, I have run Norton Anti-virus, Ad-aware, and BT Yahoo anti-spy and no further problems found.
