Are you stating that you are not detecting a wireless signal from the router ?

Have you reset your router to Factory Default ?

That is correct, I am not able to connect to the internet via the router. I have not tried resetting to the original factory settings because I remember having problems when I first set the router up...many many moons ago and the factory settings were changed....I had a friend help then.

I have tried several other things, to be honest I am way over my head here. I don't know if this makes any sense, but when I tried hitting thr repair button in the settings for my wireless connection, it said something about my DNS cache.

I tried flushing it and it says it could not do it....could this be a problem???

Any help would be great!!!

Just to clarify ...

your wireless card states that there is no AP (Access Point) ?

or

your wireless card states that this is a connection to the AP but no connection to the Internet ?

It could be due to a config setting in the router.

I would suggest you attach your PC to one of the switch ports on the Linksys router.
Then open your web browser and connect to it to check the settings.

:tazz: I'm not a computer whiz, so sorry I'm not explaining myself correctly.

I have access to the internet by logging on directly to the modem.

When I connect the router to the modem, the light comes on that indicates the internet connection is being detected by the router. However, my computer will not connect to the internet wirelessly or bdirectly to the router.

I hope that I stated this ok.

My wireless connection message is "Limited or no activity"

I assume that you followed the quick start guide and have configured the Router for your ISP connection ??

Hello! Sorry I was gone for a while. I had finals this week so I decided to put things on hold. I figured it out for my brother's laptop (centrino). You were right, all I had to do was reset to the original settings and then follow the start guide. I was hesistant on doing this because I remembered having a hard time the first time, but that is when I actually needed to install and configure a wireless card(my computer)... which is what I am having a hard time with now...sigh... I don't have the cds that came with the product and I can't seem to find a download on linksys. I know the router is working because I am able to get online wirelessly now with my brothers computer but I can't seem to activate the wireless card for my computer.

That computer is an IBM thinkpad and I have a linksys wiireless card WPC11 ver 4. Any suggestions???

Thanks
