I have outlook express 6 on my home computer. I have tried to open a message that has been saved as .msg file. What can I do to open this message on my home computer when all other outlook messages are saved as .eml?

thanks,

If you have Outlook installed, but not being used, use it to view file. Otherwise Office 2000 with all the service packs installed may open it. Different formats are not always compatible : msg has binary format while MimeMessage is in another format. I have changed the extensions on a file and tried different apps until I found one that worked. That's a long shot though in most cases. If you get it opened in Outlook, save it with an *.eml extension and you can use Outlook Express to view it from then on.

Know this isn't much help, but worth a try.
