You have a CoolWebSearch infection. First we will need to download a few tools that will help us in the removal of your problem.

Download about:buster by RubbeRDuckY Here.
Download CWShredder Here.
Download and install CleanUp! Here

Save all of these files somewhere you will remember like to the Desktop.

Update About:Buster

• Unzip the contents of AboutBuster.zip and an AboutBuster directory will be created.
• Navigate to the AboutBuster directory and double-click on AboutBuster.exe.
• Click "OK" at the prompt with instructions.
• Click "Update" and then "Check For Update" to begin the update process.
• If any updates exist please download them by clicking "Download Update" then click the X to close that window.
• Now close About:Buster

Update CWShredder

• Open CWShredder and click I AGREE
• Click Check For Update
• Close CWShredder

Boot into Safe Mode:
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Please run about:buster by RubbeRDuckY:

• Click Start and then OK to allow AboutBuster to scan for Alternate Data Streams.
• Click Yes to allow it to shutdown explorer.exe.
• It will begin to check your computer for malicious files. If it asks if you would like to do a second pass, allow it to do so.
• When it has finished, click Save Log. Make sure you save it as I may need a copy of it later.
• Reboot your computer into safe mode again

Run about:buster again following the same instructions as above, this time without the restart at the end

Now run CWShredder. Click I Agree, then Fix and then Next, let it fix everything it asks about.

Now run CleanUp!Reboot your computer into normal windows.

Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log into this topic.

Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

Note: In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
Save it to your desktop.

2.
Download and install CleanUp!
Close the program, we will run it later

3.
Ensure Ewido is fully updated

4.
Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
Select:

• Delete on Reboot
• then Click on the All Files button.

Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\cache32_rtneg3
C:\WINDOWS\apiuh32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\d3iy.exe

Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.

Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.

• When your computer is restarting, I need you to boot into safe mode by doing the following.
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
• Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Once into safe mode
Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

• Empty Recycle Bins
• Delete Cookies
• Delete Prefetch files
• Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

7.
Now open Ewido

• Click on scanner
• Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin. DO NOT have any windows/programs open for the duration of the scan.
• You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
• Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
• Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
• Click Save report.
• Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.

Close ewido security suite.

After that, Reboot.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log along with the Ewido log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working.

I followed the instructions...the only part I had trouble with was right after fixing with hijackthis, I could not find the C:\DOCUME~\Judi\LOCALS~1\Temp\9.tmp.exe or the C:\DOCUME~1\Judi|LOCALS~1\Temp\A.tmp.exe I tried search several times with the whole path and just the file name and it said there were no results to display.
Here is my HiJackThis log followed by my Ewido Log.

My computer is still not allowing me to change my settings completely, I can change the colors and the desktop, but the appearnace is still not the XP style.(forgot how ugly the old appearance is lol)

Firstly
Go to Start | Run and type this in the box: services.msc

• Locate these services, 'SmartFinder Uninstall then right click and select properties.
• Under Service Status: select Stop
• In the drop down box labeled, Startup Type: select Disabled

Next
Your Luna Theme is probably corrupt or missing.

1. Download Resources.zip from Kelly's Korner

• If for some reason you can not download it directly from above, go HERE
• Scroll down the page to #187.
• On the right side you will see Restore Luna theme-Restore Classic theme.
• Right-click on the Restore Luna theme link and select Save As and save it to your desktop.
• Depending how your machine is set up, you will either see a Winzip file called Resources, or a WinXP Zip folder called Resources.

2. Whichever it is, unzip the resources.zip file and find the file named Luna.msstyles... the file size will be 4,089 kbytes.

3. Move this file to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Luna (don't move it anywhere else!)

4. You may already have the same Luna file listed in this folder, but you must replace it with the new one.

5. REBOOT your system

6. Go to Display Properties and you should be able to choose the XP theme again

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working.

Do you recommend keeping Ewido suite and TrojanHunter running on startup or will it lag my system alot and annoy me to the point of turning it off and then not being protected? I do have Norton(not that it picked up spysherriff before i got infected~

Ewido will stop working after 14 days unless you buy it, so unless you intend to part with your money keep it until then, then uninstall it.
As for tojan hunter if it is the trial version it will expire, then I advise uninstalling it using some of the free programs below, especially spyware blaster and spyware guard

Congratulations! Your log is CLEAN

We have a couple of last steps to perform and then you're all set.

Goto control panel double click internet options click delete files then check the delete all offline content box, then click OK. Exit the control panel when it's finished.

Let's clean your restore points and set a new one:

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs from changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected)1. Turn off System Restore.On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
2. Restart your computer.

3. Turn ON System Restore.On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programs:

• SpywareBlaster to help prevent spyware from installing in the first place.
• SpywareGuard to catch and block spyware before it can execute.

You should also have a good firewall. Here are 3 free ones available for personal use:

• Sygate Personal Firewall
• Kerio Personal Firewall
• ZoneAlarm

and a good antivirus (these are also free for personal use):

• AVG Anti-Virus
• Avast Home Edition

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

To keep your operating system up to date visit

• Microsoft Windows Update

monthly. And to keep your system clean run these free malware scanners

• AdAware SE Personal
• Spybot Search & Destroy

weekly, and be aware of what emails you open and websites you visit.
