It started yesterday, first with a little globe/red circle with X flashing in the task bar. I sort of figured out it was linked to Spyaxe. I ran the usual gammut, and then SmitRem seemed to maybe delete it. But, then another stupid icon started popping up down there with a flashing yield (!) sign, faking some critical alert, yelling about Spyware Detected....of course if you click it it just brings up ads and installs crap. I've tried it all...for hours now. Even system restore won't let me restore to an older date (thanks MS!). I've done:
Spybot, Adaware, my McAfee pops up with some trojan info one in awhile, I've run Trojan Hunter, CW Shredder, Ewido, and hijackthis. Most of the programs found stuff that I deleted (some new.net stuff) but now when I run it all again, it comes up clean...yet the stupid icon is STILL at the bottom flashing up the bubble every few seconds, and it is still causing popups to appear.

Something else odd: Now when I go to submit anything (like this post) in IE, it usually still asks me "are you sure you want to submit..." and even though I click yes with the "do not show this message in the future" box checked, it still does it now! Maybe it's because some settings keep getting wiped out when I'm clearing all this stuff...

I'm out of ideas. Help is appreciated!!
