anyone know W32.AGOBOT.GH worm [RESOLVED]

Hi

I've been *very* diligent about keeping my box clean, I'm running all (well most) of the GTG recommended apps, but I think something may have snuck through. I'm getting slow responses and spontaneous reboots but w/o BSOD. The only thing that looked suspicious was a CRSS.exe app, but that may be a red herring.

Can someone take a look at this HJT log and advise? I run Ad-aware, EWIDO and I have AVG scans done every day (and yes, I update the apps for new databases and I just did the latest Windows Update)

I just bought a new printer and loaded up all the HP SW and there's a ton of stuff, so anything that says HP should be OK.

Nope, it all looks clear here. Is AVG or Ewido detected any problems?

Let's see if it may be memory related:

Download the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool and install it on a blank floppy disk. Restart your computer and insert the floppy. If necessary, change your bios to boot from the floppy drive first. Let it load from the floppy and run the memory test for about 15 minutes. If no errors show up, you may exit the program and take out the floppy.

Thanks for the response, I still remember our 5-day ordeal back in October on my Win2K box.

Since you are *the* guru of this forum (IMO) I'm going to take your word for it that my log looks clean. I will definitely run the memory diag program you referenced tomorrow, I want to take some time to study the MS documentation and get either a floppy ( which is probably in the same box as my 8-track tapes :tazz:) or set up bootable CD.

You can call this one "RESOLVED" and move on to the next desperate person. I'm currently trying to fix a friend's Win2K box and it is booting painfully slow and even when it boots it takes forever to respond so I'm sure this is some really bad stuff going on. If I don't get anywhere, I'll post her log too but I did keep all my notes from our last disaster, so hopefully I can fly solo on this (or at least most of the way)
