Hi friends, I`d really appreciate your help.
A couple of weeks ago, Winhound got installed in my PC. I thought to have gotten rid of it by running Ad-aware (with the configuration you suggest in the pre-registration part), but I continue to have problems. I`ve got an icon of Spyaxe on my desktop, a message saying iexplore.exe will close pops up every time I start my PC and my start page has been changed. This happens even though I ran several applications like Spybot, Ad-aware (as I said), ewido, Spyware doctor. I`m not sure if I added problems instead of fixing them. I need help.

This is my HijackThis log

Download SpyAxeFix.exe © noahdfear, and save it to your desktop.
  • Close all other programs and windows.
  • Double click SpyAxeFix.exe, then click Start to extract the tool to it's own folder.
  • Open the SpyAxeFix folder and double click the SpyAxeFix.bat to start the tool.
  • At one point when the tool runs, your taskbar will dissappear, and your computer will restart when the tool completes.
  • A text file named spyaxe.txt will be created in the SpyAxeFix folder.
  • Post the contents of that log please.
Also post a new HijackThis log when you are done.

I donwloaded a folder with Smitrem in my desktop, the application you suggested have been integrated with Smitrem, I guess it will remove the spyware too. Should I just run the RunThis file stored in that folder? There are several applications included.

What are the steps to run Smitrem once I stored the folder in my desktop? I don`t want to do it wrongly.
Thanks again.

My bad. Should have checked that. I will be off to bed in a minute. :tazz:

Please follow these instructions:

Download smitRem.exe and save the file to your desktop.
Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
Now scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to each of the following items and click FIX CHECKED:
===================================================
O2 - BHO: HomepageBHO - {1ca480cd-c0e5-4548-874e-b85b17905b3a} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\hpD3B.tmp (file missing)

===================================================

Close HiJackThis.

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with a new HijackThislog in your next reply.

Thank you,
It really helped me, I followed the last steps you suggested and everything seems to be ok now. Just one question, I still have the following row in my log:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinHound] C:\Archivos de programa\WinHound\WinHound.exe

Should I fix it with HijackThis too?

Thanks a lot.
