WinFixer and MSN

I'm in desperate need of help! I was bombarded with WinFixer pop-ups and since then (a week ago) I haven't been able to login to MSN Messenger. When I try to sign in to Messenger I get the error code 80048820; when I troubleshoot I was getting a error message about unresolved name in hosts file; however I'm not getting that message anymore...now I get nothing.

I bought XoftSpy to get rid of WinFixer and am somewhat satisfied. I don't get as many popups, but still get a few each day.

Please help me so my computer can be back to normal. I'm using a laptop and I think WinFixer has completely messed up everything. My battery life was 5 hours last week and now it's down to 2.5.

Help!
