My mother in law recently bought a new computer and upgraded her internet connection to DSL. After a weekend session by her grandson she now has pharmacy, dating, xxx and other links on her desktop. Also when opening IE her homepage is now showing a msblank address that cannot be changed. Needless to say this directs you to different teenage [bleep] sites. Anyway she is very upset about this and I am trying to help her resolve the problems. Ran Adaware SE and found approximately 9 critical issues which were removed. Also ran her Bellsouth antivirus but it detected nothing. She has the Windows XP security running the firewall and automatic updates and I think SP2 is installed.Have seen removal tools on the internet which guarantee msblank removal for about $30.00. Are these removal tools worth the money? Can they really remove msblank simply or will I be wasting time and money and not completely remove this hijacker. AdwareAway and XoftSpy are a couple. Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry, I'm new to the forum. I'll try all the other free antispyware you guys suggested first and let you know how it turns out. Thanks.
