Whats telling you you have CWS ? UnSpyPC ?
This is not a highly regarded program did you purchase it, I would recommend removing it,

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://forums.subrat...e=post&id=43811
http://swandog46.gee.../Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

When your system reboots, follow the prompts. Afterwards, HijackThis will launch. Please click Scan, and check the following items:

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{308EF158-D26B-4B6A-BD46-DEAA1333E83A}: NameServer = 85.255.113.138,85.255.112.14

Click FIX CHECKED. Close HijackThis, and click OK to proceed.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

Finally, please post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt, along with a new HijackThis log into this topic.

Thanks for fast reply don77. Neither link works, and could not find the file at subratam.org in the removal tools under main page listing. the swandog46 returns a page not found.

This is my son's, the college student's laptop, and he has remarked about it not working correctly lately, He has no idea, nor do i, about the UNSPYPC, it does not appear in the add/remove list of control panel. He claims no knowledge of installing it :tazz: .... I only presumed CWS from those entries, but it was a totally ignorant guess.. sorry bout that. Where or how else to get fixwareout? Thanks much. middie042

Its harmless,
did you remove UnSpyPC

The log looks clean

Nice job your log is clean !
How is it running ?
Please use the following suggestion to help prevent reinfection

Download the following program, For keeping crap off your system to begin with
Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests. Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox. Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Download Spyware Blaster

Keep AD-Aware. and Spybot 1.3 handy, Check them for updates prior to running and run them weekly
Same with your Anti Virus,

For an added check run an online virus scan, you can use one of the 2 below,
TrendMicro's HouseCall
ActiveScan

Be sure and give the Temp folders a cleaning out now and then as well, Make sure after you clean your Temp files to empty out your Recycle bin as well.
Click Start | Run | type in cleanmgr | OK

Let it scan your system for files to remove.

Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.

Press OK to remove them.

Remeber to Check Windows for updates

Probably a good time to create a new restore point See Here for XP

See Here for ME Name it clean or something like that,

Thank you Don77. Could find no more reference to the UnSpyPC, not in add/remove, no folders in Explorer, not in menu programs............... so probably gone. 'Puter runs as expected, a big thanks for whatever he had. All is good! :tazz:
