Just made the switch for AOL to using OUTLOOk for mail. Not OE, Outlook

After I read my mail, I would like when I close outlook that after I reopen outlook all my read message would be gone and only my new messages be there.

I would like this to be done auto. when I exit--it did it in AOL--

Can this be done, I have search and checked out all the options in outlook with no luck. I don't want the stuff deleted, just removed from my In box and place in my deleted box. I don't want to empty my deleted folder as I think there is an option for that.

TIA
