JoiExpress is a legitimate company offering what you want, for $9.95/month. It's unlimited access and they won't be tracking anything you do while you are online, unlike some other ISPs. Their site seems to be down right now. Don't worry about this affecting their service. My ISP, Access4Less.net is running on the same company that owns JoiExpress, Hawk Communications, and I'm doing fine. I'll check back to you later.

does that ISP have "High Speed"? and is it county wide? also, does it have muilti screen names? and the bit one, downloads and online gaming, is it good for that?

I found their sister company who is a dollar cheaper per moth ($8.95). Yes, it has the "DSL Speed" 5x acceleration and it is countrywide. Be sure to check the local access numbers. I don't know exactly what you mean by "multi screen names", it gives you five free email acounts that can be both web-based (like hotmail), and POP3-based (like Outlook Express). It does support dial-up networking, meaning you can connect using the dialer in Windows, and you don't have to have any software (except the accelerator) open to browse the web. The site is up again.

Here's the page that shows you how to set up your dialup connection (no need to download their sofware) and POP3 email access in Windows. (just choose your version)

By the way, this is my ISP (I have the non-accelerated), and it is great.

The price can. The service uses the Propel accelerator. The same basic accelerator behind all those 5x faster dial-up providers. Try telling your dad that.

people PC is $16 a month, and he wants to go with that, and when i told him about the $9 one, the internet4less thing, he said not, that it probly 'edit', wich i doubt that it does, you wouldn't have recomended it otherwise, right? anyways, what is "propel accelorater

Propel Accelerator is the the little program that runs when you browse the web and accelerates your browsing 5x. All the companies that offer accelerated services use the Propel Accelerator. Access4Less.net is actually very good, it's my ISP and I have been amazed by their services. I've been usnig A4L for a couple of years now with now complaints. I just don't use their accelerator. I used to have it but decided to downgrade because I needed to save the $3/month. There were no problems with their software (all accelerated ISPs use it). You don't have to take my word, for it read other users' reviews.
P.S. Please keep these forums friendly, any expletitives will be edited (even if you don't think they're that bad, others will).

To make money I suppose. They do this by tracking your surfing habits and sending you targeted advertising. You don't even need to download any software (except the accelerator) to run Access4Less Express.

Profits
Greed
The spyware can easily be removed after PeoplePC has been installed, and it will work fine without it. But, I don't think there's anyway to "opt-out" of installing this tracking software.

well, whats the thing with the tracking software? why do it, what do they gain?

The advertisers pay peoplepc online to include their tracking programs with the peoplepc software. After the advertisers see where you've been, they will send you ads about things they think you'll buy. The tracking program uses up takes memory, causing your computer to slow down.
