HP Omen 17" laptop ---power button?

HP Omen 17" laptop was working perfectly. Turned it off one evening, the next morning it would no come on. The power button stayed lit for ab out 5 seconds then went off. no keyboard lights, no screen, nothing. I repasted cpu and gpu, blew out fans etc,

worked again for a week then the same issue started again. I went through everything it all seems fine.

My question is.. can a power button work then not work, then work again then not work again? it just lights up for 5 seconds then goes out as before.

im thinking new motherboard time
