Put the Toshiba Recovery CD in. Most of the recovery CDs I have seen allow you to do a repair mode instead of a complete reformat and install. It won't hurt to boot the CD as it will prompt you before it goes ahead and does anything.

I tried last known good configuration, I tried debug mode, i've tried every single option on the screen. I've also tried every option on the safe mode screen by pressing F8 when the computer starts and it still brings me back to the same screen with the options. I also tried the Toshiba recovery cd and the only option was to format the hard drive and turn it back to the "out of the box" state. And there is a warning telling me that if I do that it will delete all the files on my hard drive. So are you telling me I cant use the windows xp home upgrade cd if I only have windows xp home because it came like that on the laptop? Because i bought it I just havent opened it because if I do and it doesnt work thats $99 I just lost.

I am having the identical problem with XP Pro on a P111/MicroStar MB. lue screen says registry_error followed by string of error codes. There si no way past it. I tried a new install of XP drom the CD but got the same screen. at this point I am installing xp on a spare HD, not getting blue sreen, but numerous other errors thta make me suspect a MB or processor problem. Does that make any sense?
