I had windows media player 7. I downloaded a movie and it was working fine until a codec named "xvid" was erased accidently. I updated to windows media 9 and downloaded the whole codec pack for win. media 9 and it still doesnt work. What do I do?

An alternative solution is to download VLC.

It's a free media player that handles pretty much anything you throw at it :tazz:

You can get it here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
