Ok, i know that Pinacle Studio 8 SE is quite old, but I have recently decided to install it on my new machine!

I have gone through the set up as you normally would do, but when i came up to the point of chosing which method of installation (typical, custom etc.) it came up saying it could no create a folder in all users!

So I thought nothing of it and continued through the setup. However at 49% complete and after installing Hollywood stuios FX which is bundled with the software it came up with the following error:

Component: Sample Video
File Group: Captured Video Pal
File: C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Documents/Pinnacel Studio/
Error: Access Is Denied

after clicking ok the installer procede with uninstalling all that has already been installed. I have tried reinstalling it and also restarting my machine but nothing has worked.

Can any one suggest a way in which i can install the programme? I recently also installed Dazzle and MGI video wave 4 to capture the video with and had some .DLL trouble and had to download or find about 8 files for that to work, is this possibly a problem that could have come abotu from this?

Hope you can help! :tazz:

Use add / remove to uninstall Pinnacle 8

Then run through this and then try to install Pinnacle

Download, install and run Tune Up 2006 Trial

Click start then run, type prefetch then press enter, click edit then select all, right click any file then click delete, confirm delete.

Run Tune Up disc clean up

Run Tune Up registry clean up

Click optimize and improve to run Reg Defrag, the screen will lose colour during the process which can take a few minutes and then needs a reboot

Those will have cleared the drive of obsolete software errors

These are suggestions for making the most of the free trial

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to optimize the computer, select computer with an internet connection from the drop down menu, this also requires a reboot

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to accelerate downloads, select the speed just above your actual connection speed, this requires a reboot.

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to run system advisor
