Links won't open in emails

I am no longer able to open a link that is in an email by just clicking on it. I used to be able to. I am using Windows XP Media Center edition, Outlook Express 6. I haven't made any changes or added anything lately that would cause this to happen.

Can you help?

No, it won't allow me to do that, either.

I have run the anti spyware, virus scan, and Ad Aware and nothing showed up.
