I recently went to using FireFox as my browser but still download patches for IE to cover any backdoors. I run ZoneAlarm Version 6.1.737.000 with my Charter Pipline cable hookup. I am thinking of backing everything off the hard drive I want to save and reformatting. I haven't done that in about 3 years.

Please help me to thin down any problems. As I mentioned in the topic description my computer runs 100% under the system monitor when I am surfing or browsing my harddrive. Sometimes it locks up. I am also having problems when Adobe reader is trying to be opened by a file I wanting to view of the web. I cannot view any mpegs or listen to mp3's over the net with my realplayer v8. Everytime I start a file on a webpage the realplayer opens but doesn't play the file, instead it locks up.

I know that sounds like alot, but I have been procrastinating about reformatting.

Thank you for any help.

Bo
