I use VPN to connect from my house to another site, but recently I sent up a new computer at home, I can get the vpn to connect properly, I can ping the server at the remote site, but when I open Windows explorer it locks up and I can t see the remote network resources. Any thought on what the problem might be?
Maybe a DNS or Wins problem? Very strange that I have a connection but cant use it.

Do you have the first computer in place that was functioning properly?
Did you change anything else, such as settings on the VPN or routers?

I have seen other VPN clients with issues were Windows explorer is being blocked at a protocol level. Are there settings in the VPN and/or router that indicate VPN or IPSec passthrough? If these are not established properly, they can cause issues.

Does this new computer have a software firewall blocking this type of access? If you disable the firewall temporarily while connected to the VPN, does it work?
