I have just recently switched to Firefox but have a little question i was wondering if anyone could answer :tazz:. Previously when i used IE, launching it would connect me to the internet straight away but when i now click to launch Firefox, i am not connected to the internet and have to 'manually' do so. Is there something i need to change in my settings maybe? (I am using broadband).

as far as i know there is no way of changing this, however i will look around on my computer because i have the same thing going on right now. However if you want you could buy a cheap 15$ router and it`ll have you connected as soon as you turn your PC on.
thanx

Thanks for your reply James :) I just thought that since I was automatically connected when using IE, the same would happen when using FF, but i guess its something i will have to live with :tazz:

This is because Internet Explorer, being so tied into Windows, is able to tell Windows to start dialling when it wants to go online.

Firefox doesn't have this luxury and needs you to manually dial in because it has no way to "hook" into Windows to tell it to dial, or at least not without upsetting Internet Explorer anyway. This is also the case with Opera.

I did use to have a program that replicated this for Firefox (including the auto-disconnect thing) but I have no idea where it could have gone, as I had no need for it after buying the router.
