I just got a new Acer Aspire 5672 and am having problems with following error:

The instruction at "Ox7c882fc4"referenced memory at Ox7c882fc4. The memory could not be "written" Click on OK to terminate the program. Click on CANCEL to debug the program.

The application error is wuauclt.exe, or dwwin.exe and sometimes even something else. Hopefully someone can help me! The error occurs at different times. Sometimes it occurs when resuming from Standby. Tonight it occured when I was trying to use remote assistance. I havent found a theme yet. When this error occurs it then creates an error in every program that I open.

This should probably be posted somewhere else as it might relate to a hardware issue more than malware. I assume this is basically brand new right?

See if the memory test finds any faulty in the memory:

Download the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool and install it on a blank floppy disk. Restart your computer and insert the floppy. If necessary, change your bios to boot from the floppy drive first. Let it load from the floppy and run the memory test for about 15 minutes. If no errors show up, you may exit the program and take out the floppy. If errors are found, then the memory/RAM you have there is bad. If you have more than one stick of memory, take all of them out and leave only one of them in there and run another test. Do this until you find the faulty one.

If that test is ok, then try this:

Go to Start->Run and type in sfc /scannow and hit OK. Let it scan. If it finds any files missing/corrupted, it may ask for the Windows CD.
