Hi, I have a Windows XP laptop and a blue screen pops out when I try to login onto my laptop and so I restarted the laptop and it keeps showing the blue screen. I have no idea what to do. I keep doing it over and over and the blue screen still pops out..

Please help me..

I cant go to safe mode because the blue screen pops out..

The model of the system is Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

Everytime I try to log on, i wait for the Windows to finish loading then the options

Safe Mode

Safe Mode with Networking and so on pops..

And so I clicked fourth option and the blue screen pops. I've clicked all of the options but the blue error still pops out.

I have the blue screen error

0x00000024

I ran the extended and all tests past but the blue screen is still popping out.
:) :)

i need help please. my parents are going to kill me if i dont fix the laptop.

That is a corrupted files and registry error code.

The system probably has to be reinstalled.
Be honest with the problem to the laptop owner.
It's the best way imo.

If there is no backup DVD.
One can be obtained from the maker for around $20.
If the owners are in their records.
It doesn't matter if it's still under warranty or not, the DVD can be obtained.

You're correct on the fact that it has to do with corrupted things.
It's a corrupted file system.

A re-install is a bit heavy to recommend without trying anything else.
I would recommend running a 'chkdsk' from the recovery console.

Follow the steps below to achieve this.
Boot from the Windows XP installation CD.

At the "Welcome to Setup" screen, press R to start Recovery Console. Choose the installation to be repaired by number (usually 1) and press "Enter".

When you are asked for the Administrator password, leave it blank and press "Enter".

At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r and press "Enter". (Note the space before /r) The disk check operation will start.

This will be a very thorough check of the hard drive and the file system...be patient and let it complete. It may appear to hang or even back up a few times...this is normal. 60 to 90 minutes is not unusual for this check...it may take longer in some cases.

Once the check completes and you are back at the command prompt, type exit and press "Enter". Let your computer boot normally to Windows.

NOTE: If you do not have the Windows Installation Disk, follow these steps for an alternative to the Recovery Console.
Download RC.iso and burn it to a cd as an ISO image. You may need a burning tool like ISO Recorder to do this...be sure to get the version for the operating system you'll be creating the disk on.

Olrik

Thanks Olrik,

I had the same error on one of my machines and just got the cd and reloaded.
Impatient I suppose. Everything of importance was already backed up anyway.
