Yep you have a few nasties buggers we need to clean up

Please download Qoofix by Rubber Ducky to your desktop.
  • Right click on the Qoofix folder, and choose "Extract All". Extract Qoofix to your C: drive
  • Close all windows and programs, including internet windows.
  • Go to C:\Qoofix and open the folder, then double click on Qoofix.exe
  • Click Begin Removal and wait for the scan to finish
  • If Qoofix finds an infection, select yes to restart your computer
  • You will now find a log from this tool, located at C:\Qoofix\Qoofix Logfile.txt Copy and paste the contents of that report into your next reply here.

Next
1. Please download Ewido Anti-Malware
  • Install ewido anti-malware
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
  • The program will now open to the main screen.
  • When you run ewido for the first time, you may get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.

You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
    • Then click on Start Update.
  • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
(the status bar at the bottom will display ("Update successful")
  • Exit Ewido, do not run the scan yet!
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.
ewido manual updates

2. Please download Brute Force Uninstaller to your desktop.
  • Right click the BFU folder on your desktop, and choose Extract All
  • Click "Next"
  • In the box to choose where to extract the files to,
  • Click "Browse"
  • Click on the + sign next to "My Computer"
  • Click on "Local Disk (C:) or whatever your primary drive is
  • Click "Make New Folder"
  • Type in BFU
  • Click "Next", and Uncheck the "Show Extracted Files" box and then click "Finish".
3. RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download Alcra PLUS Remover.
Save it in the same folder you made earlier (c:\BFU).

Do not do anything with these yet!

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping F8 until a menu appears. Highlight Safe Mode and hit enter.

4. Once in Safe Mode, Open Ewido:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
  • Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.
Close ewido anti-malware.

5. Then, please go to Start > My Computer and navigate to the C:\BFU folder.
  • Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by doubleclicking BFU.exe
  • Behind the scriptline to execute field click the folder icon Posted Image and select alcanshorty.bfu
  • Press Execute and let the program do it’s job. (You ought to see a progress bar if you did this correctly.)
  • Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK.
  • Press exit to terminate the BFU program
Reboot into normal windows and post the contents of Ewido text report that you saved and a new HiJackThis log.

So in recap I will need to see the
Qoofix Logfile.txt

Thanks don77 for your quick responce.

Evidently I did something wrong when installing BFU and ALSCANSHORTY because when i tried to run BFU and clicked on the foledr it didn't display the "alcanshorty.bfu" file so I copied and pasted it in the execute field then clicked on "exicute" and didn't see a progress bar but did get a notice right away that it was complete so i clicked OK..

Thanks for your continued help.

I am expirencing a problem with my sound, I have none since just before I posted this thread.. I didn't say anything before because I thought that when we got the other things fixed it would come back..
I checked all the sound settings and they are all on and turned up as high as they will go.. Also ran a troubleshoot and it said that everything was good..

I did as you asked but the file ibm00001.exe wasn't there..

No I haven't d/loaded spywarebot but I do have spybot search and destroy.. I believe that when I d/loaded it they wanted money and I don't have any at the time..

Here's the new log file..

Might have to send you over to another forum for that

No I haven't d/loaded spywarebot but I do have spybot search and destroy.. I believe that when I d/loaded it they wanted money and I don't have any at the time..

Lets go ahead and uninstall it then

Click on start, then control panel, and then double-click on add/remove programs. From within add/remove program uninstall the following if they exist by double-clicking on the following entries:

SpywareBot

You will want to reinstall spybot search and destroy thats a legit program,

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SpywareBot] D:\Program Files\SpywareBot\SpywareBot.exe -boot

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Close HiJackThis. Reboot into safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Using Windows Explorer (to get there right-click your Start button and go to "Explore"), please delete these folders (if present):

D:\Program Files\SpywareBot

After that, Reboot.
Post back a fresh HJT log please

Hi don77,

Thank you so much for your continued suport and valuable advice..

It appears that Hijackthis got rid of "spywarebot" because when I looked for it in safe mode it was nowhere to be found and as you can see it dosen't appear in the log now..

You stated: You will want to reinstall spybot search and destroy thats a legit program, does this mean that "spywaedbot isn't legit?? Or is it just because it's not functioning on my machine?

I'm sure you have noticed that I'm running "Norton System Works" and Ive heard that you shouldn't run two diffrent virus detection systems on the same machine.. Is this correct??

Thanks again,
jdee

:whistling:
Thats a clean log now

You stated: You will want to reinstall spybot search and destroy thats a legit program, does this mean that "spywaedbot isn't legit?? Or is it just because it's not functioning on my machine?

And this is why I asked you if you installed spywarebot
"exploits name "Spybot Search & Destroy" its listed on the roque spyware apps found here
http://www.spywarewa...nti-spyware.htm
scroll down to spywarebot

I'm sure you have noticed that I'm running "Norton System Works" and Ive heard that you shouldn't run two diffrent virus detection systems on the same machine.. Is this correct??

I did and Norton's is an Anti Virus program where as Spybot search and destroy is a spyware removal program

How is it running ?
Please use the following suggestion to help prevent reinfection

Download the following program, For keeping crap off your system to begin with
Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests. Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox. Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

[quote]I am expirencing a problem with my sound, I have none since just before I posted this thread.. I didn't say anything before because I thought that when we got the other things fixed it would come back..
I checked all the sound settings and they are all on and turned up as high as they will go.. Also ran a troubleshoot and it said that everything was good..

Might have to send you over to another forum for that

That would be greatly appreicated as I don't seem to be able to find the proper area to post this problem..
