Wireless Internet On Linux OS, won't connect to wireless internet

OS: Windows XP, PCLinux, and gOS v3



right now i am picking up wireless internet from one of my neighbors and it works on windows xp and will find it on PCLinux OS but wont connect and wont find or connect to the internet on the gOS v3 OS. the internet doesn't have a password on it and usually gets good signal while on XP. is there anyone that can help me out on this?
