I notice a few people have had this problem but after checking around, I haven't found a fix for it, so here's hoping someone can help me-- I'm not sure what all info is needed, so let me know if I need to post more information. I'm running windows XP home, and have been having this problem for a few months now. I held off on installing SP2 for awhile, but finally installed it about a week ago hoping it might fix this problem, but no good, still happening.

Any folders I try to open, or things like My Computer or Control Panel, after approx. 5 minutes after a restart, will crash. They will open if I try again within about the next 30 seconds, but otherwise, it will continue to crash over and over. The standard 'Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.' message comes up, and the data error report error signature says the following information:

AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 02af6810

I've run both Adaware and Spybot and haven't had anything come up (and have tried uninstalling Spybot, because I thought I noticed this started around the time I installed it, but I could be wrong, it's been a few months.), so I'm assuming it's something more than some sort of spyware, but I'm not sure what else to check.

If anyone has any tips, or suggestions, I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance!
