When I start my computer it takes about 5 minutes to get windows to start up. First I get the Intel logo for about 2 minutes. Then I get the XP logo for about another 3 minutes. When I first got the computer it never took this long, until it would not log off one day and the computer had to be manually powered down. What can I do to correct the start-up problem?

Well I would first like to say welcome to the site randyj <_<

first lets check what the computer has to start up...

open up your start menu and click all programs and look for the start up folder, when you find it, right click and hit open, check how many programs are in that folder... also lets check for any spywear so click on the link below and download the program, run the test and delete any spyware that comes up, after that reboot your computer and post back your findings
